some methods to create different melodies:
Repeat phrases but change them slightly:
Dabble with the original notes. Try and use some different intervals and spaces to change up the structure of the hook.
Give your melodies a focal point:
Use a higher or lower note as a focal point. A point the melody reached to and never returns builds around this.
Write two melodies and interweave them:
You can use Garageband or any DAW to move them around and see how they fit together.
Draw a random line on a piece of paper:
Make sure that the line squiggles and turns. Follow that line in your melody - you may hit some notes you don’t use often.
